A Mother’s Warning – Take COVID-19 Seriously

It started with an aching neck and a fever, but doctors soon realized Alex had multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), a condition that may occur in children who had COVID-19. The care he received at our hospital led to a positive outcome, with Alex returning to school.

Coming Home

Baby John-Derrick surprised his parents while on vacation from their hometown of St. John’s, Newfoundland. He was born three months early, receiving care from a nurse practitioner in our NICU with a very special connection to home.

Farewell Nicki

The holidays she has altered in the last 43 years to care for kids are too many to count, but as she retires, Nicki leaves much for patients and colleagues to be thankful for.

Cannon’s Long Journey

Cannon was born at 22 weeks, and after a long road — 11 months in the hospital and 12 surgeries — he’s home with his family celebrating another special milestone: his first birthday.
